"Moonglow, Rescued Harbor Seal" by Artist Pamela Hoke Image
Description:
"Moonglow, Rescued Harbor Seal" for Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
24" x 36" x 1.5" Original Oil painting on canvas, Pamela Hoke.

"I have been in awe of the marine mammal rescue efforts by Wolf Hollow for years. For me, every seal who is abandoned or injured deserves a chance, and when I encountered the beautiful photo of Moonglow, I sensed the expression of love that I always feel from any natural being, and whenever I can help an environmental organization drive the message home that we are nature, nature is family. We are deeply connected to all of nature and restore our natural senses where we once again feel any part of nature, our life source, being harmed as we would our family being harmed."

Pamela Hoke, Bio

Profound sensory experiences of nature unfold in artist Pamela Hoke's stylistically primitive representation of the world and her connection to it.  Her vast array of subjects, including landscapes, florals, and animal portraits, emerge as intuitive expressions of energy in motion.  She creates her own paint with natural earth and mineral pigments mixed with walnut oil, along with walnut oil-based paints - a beautiful organic process used by the old masters.  Pamela received her degree in fine arts at Ohio State University.  Being fully immersed in the natural world ignites her creativity and increases her sense of belonging and overall well-being, and her career mission is to share these benefits from a deeper connection with nature and art with others.

She shares a tidy semi-private studio with a group of painters in town on San Juan Island called the Friday Harbor Atelier and has a large private farm studio at Aurora Farms to unleash her prowess. "No barriers or limits during the creating process," says Pam.  Throughout her life career as an artist, her works have been featured in Ohio, Florida, and Washington and published frequently in Martin County's local newspapers.  Pam is currently in graduate school at the University of Washington's Evans School for Public Policy and Social Governance, to strengthen her message for sustainability and harmony of people and planet.  She aims to develop as a Leader of Sustainability through her art and years of brand communications work, and polish decades of research in the final version of her illustrated book.  She enjoys hiking, cultural events, and volunteering with her loved ones when she is not creating art.
